There is power in the very name of Jesus. Sometimes, when I don’t know which way to turn or what to do, I simply and humbly say, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” There is something about that powerful name that centers me and calms my spirit.
In the name of Jesus you can have access to everything. Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.” John 16:23-24

In the name of Jesus there is power for healing and salvation. “By this name this man stands here before you in good health. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10, 12

In the name of Jesus normal, ordinary men and women are raised to the level of extraordinary. “Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say in reply.” Acts 4:13-14
In the name of Jesus there is the powerful Good News message for the world. Paul is given a primary mission-to take the name of Jesus to the gentiles, their kings and to the sons of Israel. Paul’s mentor, Ananias, was told: “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of Mine, to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel.” Acts 9:15
In the name of Jesus you can have peace. “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 15:33
Now, who would not be comfortable and welcoming to the powerful name of Jesus? I can think of only two characters. Both share a common problem-pride! One is found in the same kind of prideful political and religious leadership Jesus frequently faced. The other is the prideful presence of the devil.
If you want to be a faithful follower of Jesus, then it seems to make sense to do your best to hang out with Jesus. He is your safe-place! In order to get his attention, all you must do is say his name…Jesus.
