What’s the difference between a Jesus follower and everyone else? When Jesus showed up, his listeners were eager to hear what he had to say. Whenever he opened his mouth, he was actually answering the question that was foremost on the minds of the people listening. “Jesus, how does your teaching differ from what we’ve been taught from our religious leaders?”

In his first seminar, Jesus urged his followers to do one thing over all other things: “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So, don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6)

Later, Jesus offered unique insight for his followers to get whatever they needed to be able to judge things properly. He said: “Ask and keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Seek and keep on seeking, and you will find. Knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7)

In my opinion, Jesus’ followers didn’t need more knowledge; they needed wisdom, SO ask, seek, and knock on God’s door for it! James speaks to this at the beginning of his letter. He says: If you need wisdom, ask God and He will give it to you generously. (James 1)

I think the primary difference between a Jesus follower and everyone else, is that Jesus followers have an unlimited supply of wisdom given to them…just for the asking!
